SPECIFICATIONS,
TERMS & CONDITIONS
OVERVIEW:
We are asking for files to be prepared in a
professional manner as this will yield the best results. Please consult a
knowledgeable designer in preparing your digital files. Orders received varying
from these specifications may be subject to delays and/or additional charges.
Please review all requirements before placing an order. If you have questions,

or call a Service Representative for assistance. Simply Postcards is a
trade DBA for Separacolor International, Inc.
TRANSFER
MEDIA:
We can
accept files as an attachment to E-mail, FTP (File Transfer Protocol), C.D. Rom
or 1.4mb floppy disks. We
archive files for 1 year for reorders. Please retain a complete original
of your files. Label your case and
disk with your company name. DO NOT SEND YOUR ONLY FILE. Regardless
of how you send us your files, we can only accept files that are Win Zipped (PC)
or Stuffed as a .sit (MAC) file. Effective Aug 1, 2005 we can not accept a
,sitx file.
FILE
SUBMISSION:
Include All
the files required to assemble your document. This will include all
Document Layout, Images and Fonts. Do
not include any un-used files or fonts. Provide a printed directory
listing all files and all fonts used and a laser print out.
LAYOUT PROGRAMS:
We
prefer a Mac based platform but some P.C. platforms are acceptable provided they
are built in a specific program. Your document size should be the same size as
the page saved at 100 percent. Do not stylize the fonts. Use only the fonts you
supply (i.e. italic, bold etc). DO NOT USE KEY BOARD
FUNCTIONS. All colors are to be built as CMYK values. No
RGB or SPOT colors.
ACCEPTABLE
PROGRAMS:
MAC- Quark, Photo Shop, Illustrator, In Design, Page Maker,
Free Hand and High Resolution PDF.
P.C.- Quark, Corel Draw,
In Design, Photo Shop, Publisher and High Resolution PDF.
If you are providing a PDF, it needs to have all fonts
embedded to press settings / high resolution.
IMAGES:
All images are to be save as CMYK values as TIFF, Jpeg
or EPS. Do not save as RGB. The resolution of each image should
be a minimum of 300 D.P.I. at their final size used in your card. Do not resample to get 300
DPI resolution. All images are to be updated and linked.
BLEEDS:
When
laying out your document with a bleed, include 1/8" bleed on all 4 sides.
Keep the document size at the trim size of the brochure. Add 1/8" bleed to
the color box or image allowing it to overhang the document by the 1/8”. Only
use 1/8" bleeds. For Photo Shop, add the bleed to the document size.
FILES:
WE ONLY PRINT IN CMYK.
ALL FILES SUBMITTED FOR PRINTING WILL BE CONVERTED TO THIS PRINT STANDARD.
Only submit the files that are to be printed. If
you submit the wrong files, you accept full responsibility for the printing
outcome.
PROOFS:
We print using a direct to print process.
It
is understood that the CMYK values built into the file is what will print.
Separacolor International, Inc. (Simply Postcards) will not check for color accuracy for files to printout.
The customer is fully responsible for final proof and layout approval prior to
the printing process. We do not proof read your document. Separacolor
International, Inc. (Simply Postcards)
is not liable for color matching or ink density on screen proofs approved by the
customers. Screen proofs will predict design layout, text accuracy, image
proportion and placement, but not color or density.
Application of UV Coating may effect or change the appearance of the printed
colors. Separacolor International,
Inc. (Simply Postcards)
is not liable for the final color appearance of a UV product(s).
If you require a proof from us prior to printing, please request it on our order form.
Otherwise, the order goes direct to print.
PDF Proof - $5
per page
Epson digital proof - $10 per page
DO NOT TRUST THE COLORS ON YOUR
MONITOR. CHECK ALL COLOR BUILDS AGAINST A CMYK COLOR GUIDE.
PRINTING:
We print directly from your files and printouts to SWOP
ink and density standards. All printing is done in four color
process. All artwork or designs and images must be provided in CMYK
format. Separacolor International, Inc. (Simply Postcards)
is not responsible for any color shift that occurs in conversions from RGB to
CMYK or PMS Panton colors to CMYK color modes.
All artwork, designs and images must be provided in minimum of 300 DPI and CMYK
color mode. Separacolor International, Inc. (Simply Postcards)
is not responsible for images printed as fuzzy, distorted or pixilated due to
customer provided artwork.
TERMS:
50% payment is required with order submission.
Balance due prior to shipping. A completed and signed order form must
accompany your order. To keep our prices well below market, we do
not extend payment terms. If you require 30 days to pay, we accept
MasterCard, Visa, Discovery or American Express. If you are paying by credit card, it
is understood that the balance plus freight and applicable tax will also be
charged to that same credit card.
GROUND FREIGHT:
All goods will be shipped at your expense via
UPS or a common carrier.
AIR FREIGHT:
We can ship a partial or
all your brochures via UPS Next Day, 2nd Day, or 3rd Day service provided
arrangements are made 2 days in advance of projected ship date. Air
freight is charged at published rate plus $2 per box handling and insurance.
SPLIT SHIPMENT:
If you require your order sent to two or more locations or some ground and some
air freight, there will be a $5.00 charge for each additional shipping
destination.
SHIP IN CONFIDENCE:
If you are having us drop ship to your client and you require source confidence,
please check the appropriate box on the
order form.
CALIFORNIA STATE SALES
TAX:
All orders shipped inside California will be charged California State Sales Tax
at the destinations taxing authority rate unless an original resale certificate
is received with your order. Faxed copies are not accepted.
TRADE CONDITIONS:
Every effort will be made to produce your printed goods to the highest
standards. We employ the latest technology and equipment in producing all of our
printed material. If for some reason you are not satisfied, and we concur with
your finding, we will reprint your job at no charge to you. Because printed
goods are custom in nature, there are no refunds.
DELIVERY:
We quote a shipping time
in working days from receipt of files and printouts. While we strive to
meet, and most times beat, these time frames, this is not a promise nor a
guarantee.
DOCUMENT LAYOUT:
It is understand that if you or your representative prepares digital files, the
file specifications listed in this agreement will be followed. If file
errors are found, your project will not be put into process until the files are
corrected by us or you. If we correct your files, your order is subject to
additional charges.
LIMITATION OF
LIABILITY:
In no event shall Separacolor
International, Inc. (
Simply Postcards) or its licensors,
suppliers, or vendors, their officers, directors, employees, or agents, be
liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages of any
kind, or for any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data or profits,
whether or not Separacolor
International, Inc. (
Simply Postcards) has been advised of
possibility of the damage, arising out of or in connection with the use or
performance of the site or of failure to provide services that you order from Separacolor
International, Inc. (
Simply Postcards) or its affiliates,
including without limitation, damages arising from mistake, omission, virus,
delay, or interruption of service. In no event shall Separacolor
International, Inc. (
Simply Postcards) be liable or
responsible for any damages or consequences arising from or related to your
inappropriate or unauthorized use of the site or its content.
